Our location list included
-Convent garden
vibrant, colourful location - perfect for the 'honeymoon' phase
-Tate Modern
Maria's favourite place in London, where she can observe London's magnificent skyline
-Embankment
due to the interesting architecture of the bridge, and the frustrating sounds, it seemed like it would be perfect for the adjustment period, where she is confused, but she could go there to breathe and think
-Piccadilly Circus
a lot of confusion, crowded areas, tourists, people rushing: everything we needed for the 'frustration' phase
-Soho
for the 'frustration' we wanted a lot of neon lights and dark alleys to go with Maria's emotional state
-Tube station
Maria's journey on the tube represents her confusion and the way she wanted to fit in the culture. it took her to the next phase when she met the 'friendly stranger'
-Maria's room
we wanted to put Maria back into her comfort zone and show little snippets of her aspirations and goals. it is the most intimate environment for her, where she can be herself truly and this is shown by the writings on the wall
-Southbank
captivating lights, friendly atmosphere, market stalls, antique bookstands: a perfect composition of a wonderful day out in London, especially with the Sun out
-Brighton's beach
as Maria is from Valencia, it was inevitable to find the closest beach to London and bring her back to the sea. a landscape she knows and she can escape to anytime. she is free and completely independet, as represented by the playfulness of the sea, as opposed to the Thames, which is dark and 'industrial'
